Believe

John 11:25 - 26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?
John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
These are just a few of the verses in God's Holy Word that tell us to believe, and the central theme of the Bible is to believe on his son Jesus Christ who gave his perfect life as a ransom for our sinful lives.  With an ever increasing press to do more in life and become more efficient, mankind is spending less time considering the whole principle of some of the basics of life.  If mankind did not believe in anything (whether right or wrong) then nothing would get accomplished.  We make the most basic decisions of our life by what we believe yet we are somehow getting further away from believing in much that will go into eternity.  As I stated before, if the central theme of the Bible is to believe on the Lord for our each and every need upon this earth and into eternity, then we must fully grasp onto the principle of believing.  By definition, principle means "a general truth; a law comprehending many subordinate truths".  So based on this, what does it mean to believe on Jesus?  It is much more than just having a knowledge or head belief of Him.  If biblical belief in Jesus is a truth to you, then by definition there are other subordinate beliefs about Jesus that you must believe also, otherwise you do not truly believe in Him.  If you believe in Jesus, you must also believe all His Word.  You cannot just believe a portion of the Bible, but you must believe all the Bible, both testaments and every verse contained therein.  By no means are we capable in this mortal body to live every aspect of our life according to God's standards, but we must believe it.  If you believe in Jesus, you must believe in all His relationships.  His relationship as part of the triune Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  His relationship to mankind in that upon true belief in Him we become joint heirs with Him, we also become part of the family of God as brothers and sisters in Christ walking separate lives but forming one body of Christ.  And very importantly, if you believe in Jesus you must believe Him over all else.  If you have never believed on Jesus to save you, do so today.  If you are saved and on your way to and eternity in heaven, then believe Him for everything else we still need in this life
