What does it mean to be Saved?

The Bible teaches that "And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely". However, we see that the Bible declares that by nature all mankind is spiritually dead and alienated from God. In other words, sinners are not introduced to Christ of their own accord. It is not until God first convicts the sinner through the power of the Holy Spirit and the sinner chooses to receive through a willing heart that he will repent, believe, and come to Christ.
The Bible teaches that this gift of grace is sovereignty given by God to everyone, but must be accepted by the individual for salvation to occur. Our church is evangelical (evangelizing the lost) and we invite sinners to come to Christ.

Do you believe the following?
- You are a sinner and the penalty for your sin is eternity in the lake of fire. see Romans 3:10 & 23
- You are willing to repent (turn from your sin and turn towards Jesus Christ). see Acts 3:19
- You are willing to make Jesus Christ Lord of your life. see Romans 6:23
- Trust that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. see Romans 5:8-11
- Understand that salvation is a free gift attained only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and can never be earned by your own “goodness” or good deeds. see Romans 6:23
If you trust and believe these truths from God's Word, you simply need to "..confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" Romans 10:9. This can be done by humbly going to the Lord in prayer and telling Jesus Christ that you believe these things and then ask Him for the free gift of eternal life. The Bible teaches that at the very moment your heart comes to God in this fashion you are saved for the rest of eternity. Once you have done this, God will write your name down in the book of life and heaven will become your home for the eternity hereafter (see Romans 8:35-39).
