We are a small but welcoming Church!

THE BIRTH OF LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST CHURCH
Organized in July of 2004, approximately 50 charter members worked together with the Lord's help to establish this work. Even though this church seems young, most of it's organizing members have been saved and active in God's work for more than 20 years. We were active members of Temple Baptist Church under the founding ministry of Bro. Harlan Gott. Shortly after Bro. Gott was gathered to his people in heaven in February of 2004, some divisions arose which were not overcome; therefore I, Travis Brice, along with many other members, including the remaining Gott family, left and organized Lighthouse Baptist Church. The Lord has blessed, continues to bless, and for that we are grateful.
CREDITS
We thank God and praise him for his many blessings and provisions, for we know that without him we can do nothing. This is a brief summary of what God has done for us, and information concerning our future plans, if God wills.
GOD PROVIDES
The Lord allowed us to purchase approximately 13 acres of property located on Hwy 90 in New Iberia. Currently we are meeting for services in a converted double wide trailer with comfortable padded chairs which seat about 85 in the auditorium. Our building includes a large, well maintained nursery, an office/ Sunday school classroom, two restrooms, a baptistry, small kitchen area, and an additional Sunday school classroom. We enjoy the services in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.
In August of 2007, we built a 480 sq. ft. building complete with it's own restroom to accommodate our growing jr. church group. This building also functions as a dining room and additional Sunday school class and activity room. The children really appreciate having their “own space.”
Not long after we purchased the initial 5+ acres, we dug a pond (now fully stocked with good-eating fish) and used the dirt to elevate the portion of property dedicated to build a nicer facility.
TRUSTING GOD FOR OUR FUTURE
If the Lord allows, plans are in motion to build a beautiful large multifunction building, with a full sized lighthouse (possibly functioning) as it's front. Along with the auditorium, offices, classrooms, kitchen, baptistry, and nursery, future ministries to be included in the building are a library and Christian bookstore . The large size will allow for the convenience of three drop-off entrances.
Future ministries envisioned for the enhancement of the Lord's work are a printing facility to be located directly behind the area of our present building. The recent purchase of an additional 8 acres of property will allow us to operate a mini church farm. This will provide wholesome, natural, clean food sources for the church and work for some of our children in their spare time. For many years, the Lord has burdened our hearts to provide housing for missionaries we support who are retiring from their fields abroad, and those coming back to the USA on furlough. Our extra acreage will amply allow for these ministries.
.
LOCAL OUTREACH
Our love and concern for our local and surrounding communities keep us performing regular van route visitations and tract and flyer visitations. We have started a Master Club Kids Club for our youth of many ages which meets about twice per month. Our prayer and hope is that if the Lord tarries, we will continue to keep our hearts and spirits right so that we may be used of God to add to the local church, while continuing to add to the 200+ missionaries and projects we support across the globe. It is our desire to add to the glory of God, as more desperate souls are added to God's eternal presence.
Little is much when God is in it; therefore, there is no “little” if we keep God in it! We invite you to come and be a part of God's fun.
